MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517013753 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 18, for 'battery cell with excellent impact resistance, and manufacturing method therefor.'
Inventor(s) include Baek, Doo Hyun; Baek, Sang Min; and Kang, In Woo.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a battery cell with excellent impact resistance, and a manufacturing method therefor, and, specifically, to a battery cell with excellent impact resistance, and a manufacturing method therefor, the battery cell comprising: a case having an accommodation space; an electrode assembly which is accommodated in the case, and which includes an anode having an anode tab, a cathode having a cathode tab, and a separator interposed between the anode and the cathode; and a pair of electrode leads composed of an anode lead electrically connected to the anode tab and a cathode lead electrically connected to the cathode tab, wherein a plurality of holes are spaced at regular intervals in the anode tab and/or the cathode tab in the longitudinal direction so that a full short circuit can be prevented even if an electrode tab is cracked."
