MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054064 A) filed by Hitachi High-Tech Corporation, Tokyo, on June 4, for 'battery deterioration determination method and battery deterioration determination device.'

Inventor(s) include Inoue Takeshi; Hirasawa Shigeki; Yonemoto Masahiro; Horikoshi Nobuya; Mochizuki Masahito; Sumikawa Yosuke; Konishi Hiroaki; and Ueda Suguru.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a battery deterioration determination method that estimates the imbalance and Ah capacity of each cell, which are indicators of the degree of deterioration of a battery pack, even if voltage information on each cell cannot be obtained, or issues a warning when estimation is impossible. This battery deterioration determination method for diagnosing the degree of deterioration of a battery pack is characterized by comprising: (a) a step for acquiring information regarding the cell average voltage of the battery pack or the total voltage of the battery pack, and the charging current of the battery pack; (b) a step for estimating the CV charging period from the charging current; and (c) a step for estimating the imbalance relationship between the cells and the Ah capacity of the battery pack from the cell average voltage of the CV charging period and the relationship between the CV voltages of the cells."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 13, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/040776.
