MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517048496 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 20, for 'battery diagnostic device and operating method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Kim Won Kyung; Lee Jeong Bin; Yoon Sung Yul; Kim In Sik; Kim Soon Jong; Kwon Ki Wook; and Song Young Seok.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery diagnostic device according to an embodiment disclosed in this document comprises: an acquisition unit that acquires respective first voltage values of a plurality of battery units; an identification unit that identifies second voltage values of different standby sections among the first voltage values; a determination unit that determines a voltage slope representing the degree of change over time in the second voltage values of each of the plurality of battery units and determines a standard score (Z score) of the voltage slope for each of the plurality of battery units by using the average and the standard deviation of the plurality of voltage slopes corresponding to each of the plurality of battery units on a one to one basis; and a diagnosis unit that selects the battery units having the standard score outside a first reference range and having the voltage slope outside a second reference range among the plurality of battery units and diagnoses at least some of the selected battery units as abnormal battery units."
