MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517047505 A) filed by University Court Of The University Of St Andrews, St Andrews, U.K., on May 16, for 'battery materials.'
Inventor(s) include Liao, Yingling; Armstrong, Rob; and Wang, Chenchen.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to mixed phase layered sodium metal oxide materials, which have been found to have properties that are advantageous for use of the materials in sodium-ion batteries. The present invention also relates to a method of forming such materials via a sol-gel route. Electrodes comprising the layered sodium metal oxide materials as well as energy storage devices comprising the layered sodium metal oxide materials are also considered."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 18, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/079014.
