MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064945 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 8, for 'battery module, and battery pack and vehicle including same.'

Inventor(s) include Lim, Jong-Min.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery module according to the present invention comprises: a plurality of battery cells; a cell frame in which the plurality of battery cells are accommodated; and a filling member which is filled between the plurality of battery cells, wherein: at least a part of the cell frame is recessed to form a leakage prevention groove in which the filling member is accommodated; the cell frame includes a frame wall which forms the circumference of the cell frame and a cell accommodation portion which is provided within the frame wall to accommodate the plurality of battery cells; and the leakage prevention groove is provided between the frame wall and the cell accommodation portion. According to the present invention, leakage of the filling member during injection of the filling member can be prevented. When cell frames for accommodating the upper and lower portions of the battery cells respectively are coupled to each other, leakage of the filling member between the cell frames can also be prevented. In addition, leakage of the filling member can be prevented while production cost can be reduced and energy density can be increased."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/013596.
