MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054069 A) filed by Hitachi High-Tech Corporation, Tokyo, on June 4, for 'battery pack diagnosis method and diagnosis device.'
Inventor(s) include Konishi Hiroaki; Inoue Takeshi; Ueda Suguru; Horikoshi Nobuya; Yonemoto Masahiro; Mochizuki Masahito; and Sumikawa Yosuke.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In order to enhance precision in calculating the energy capacity of a battery pack, the present invention uses a battery pack diagnosis method comprising: a step for obtaining detection data that include, for a battery pack having a configuration in which a plurality of cells are connected in series, the current and temperature of the battery pack and the voltage of each cell thereof; a step for obtaining function data of open-circuit voltage and resistance, which are functions of the charging state of a cell; a step for using the function data and the detection data to create a resistance table for each cell; a step for using the current and temperature and the voltage of each cell to calculate the charging state of each cell; a step for calculating the charge capacity and resistance of each cell, and the charging state for each cell; a step for using the charge capacity and the charging state and resistance for each cell to calculate the energy capacity of the battery pack; a step for diagnosing the calculated energy capacity of the battery pack; and a step for removing the value of an energy capacity that has been determined to be abnormal by the diagnosis, and recalculating the energy capacity of the battery pack."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 25, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/002188.
