MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547096548 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on Oct. 7, for 'beam panic configuration.'
Inventor(s) include Gao, Kang; Zhu, Jun; Laghate, Mihir Vijay; and Challa, Raghu Narayan.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Method and apparatus for a beam panic design. The apparatus measures at least one subset of beams of a set of beams received from a network entity. The apparatus monitors for a change within a subset of the measured beams having a highest signal quality. The apparatus measures a rate of the change of the subset of the measured beams having the highest signal quality, in response to detection of an occurrence of the change of the subset of the measured beams having the highest signal quality. The apparatus initiates a beam panic mode based on at least the rate of change of the subset of the measured beams having the highest signal quality is less than a first threshold."
The patent application was internationally filed on May 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/030588.
