MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012645 A) filed by Bennett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'behavioral biometrics for cheater detection in online gaming.'
Inventor(s) include Prof. Tapas Badal; and Dr. Nitin Arvind Shelke.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure unveils an advanced system for detecting cheaters in online gaming through the application of behavioral biometrics. The system comprises a highly specialized behavioral analysis unit responsible for real-time monitoring and in-depth analysis of player actions within the gaming environment. Integrated into the gaming platform, a biometric data collection module collects a rich dataset encompassing keystroke dynamics, mouse movement patterns, and response times. Leveraging a cutting-edge cheating detection algorithm residing within the analysis unit, the system adeptly identifies anomalies in behavioral biometrics, thus pinpointing potential cheating behaviors. To ensure timely intervention and maintain fair gameplay, the system includes a robust reporting mechanism, which promptly alerts game administrators of suspected cheating incidents. The system not only bolsters the integrity of online gaming but also serves as a formidable deterrent against unfair practices, fostering a more enjoyable and equitable gaming experience for all players."
