MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421017401 A) filed by Engle, Prakash, Pune, Maharashtra, on March 11, 2024, for 'berth assemblies for railway vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a berth assembly of a railway vehicle. The berth assembly includes a frame assembly (102), a mattress (104), and a honeycomb panel (106). The frame assembly (102) includes a plurality of peripheral members (108a, 108b, 108c) and is adapted to be removably attached to each other to form a supporting structure. The honeycomb panel (106) is adapted to be attached to the frame assembly (102). The supporting structure is adapted to be disposed on a periphery of the honeycomb panel and adapted to hold the honeycomb panel (106) between the plurality of peripheral members (108a, 108b, 108c). The mattress (104) adapted to be fitted into the frame assembly (102). Herein the mattress (104) is adapted to be positioned above the honeycomb panel (106)."
