MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012495 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'berthing assistive device for watercrafts.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A berthing assistive device for watercrafts comprises of a frame 1 having a pair of elongated supports 2 developed to be positioned on shore of a harbour, multiple wheels 3 arranged underneath the supports 2 for moving the frame 1 along the shore, an imaging unit 4 mounted on the frame 1 to determine presence and location of a watercraft approaching towards the harbour, multiple LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) 6 integrated with an extendable L-shaped bar 5 to get illuminated for guiding the watercraft to move towards the frame 1, a pair of extendable plates 7 are configured at lower portion of the supports 2 to extend for positioning the plates 7 near hull of the watercraft, and a motorized two-axis lead screw 11 arranged on the supports 2 via multiple flaps 10 to establish a support underneath lateral sides of the accommodated watercraft."
