MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127077 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'beverage consuming assistive device for beverage cans.'

Inventor(s) include Sayra Saini; Abhineet Chauhan; Nitu Rani; and Tina Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A beverage consuming assistive device for beverage cans, comprises of a cylindrical body 101 having an opened bottom, developed to be positioned on top of a can containing beverage, a microphone 102 embedded in the body 101 to provide voice command for securing the body 101 on the top of the can, a motorized drawer arrangement 103 integrated in the body 101 to expand/contract diameter of the body 101, multiple suction unit 104 installed along periphery of bottom of the body 101 to adhere the body 101 on top of the can, an imaging unit 105 installed in the body 101 to detect pull tab, a clamp 106 installed in the body 101, to grip the pull tab and open the tab, and a hollow extendable tube 107 installed in the body 101 to extend and insert a lower end of the tube 107 in the can."
