MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547094650 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on Oct. 1, for 'biasing a user equipment towards camping on a wireless node based on reference signal for positioning configuration and discontinuous reception configuration.'
Inventor(s) include Manolakos, Alexandros; Kumar, Mukesh; and Yerramalli, Srinivas.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In an aspect, a communications device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), a wireless network component, a network component such as a position estimation entity or location management function (LMF), etc.) determines one or more reference signal for positioning (RS-P) configurations associated with a positioning session of a UE. The communications device determines, from a set of candidate wireless nodes, a first subset of candidate wireless nodes associated with a first subset of discontinuous reception (DRX) configurations that is capable of supporting the one or more RS-P configurations with a lower DRX ON duration, fewer DRX ON-OFF transitions, or both, than a second subset of DRX configurations associated with a second subset of candidate wireless nodes. The UE performs one or more actions to bias the UE towards camping on a target wireless node from the first subset of candidate wireless nodes."
The patent application was internationally filed on June 03, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/032197.
