MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020682 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'bicycle securing device for vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Nidhi Tyagi; Vijay Maheshwari; Varun Bansal; and Kuldeep Chauhan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bicycle securing device for vehicle comprises of a platform 1 required to be installed at a rear portion of a vehicle, multiple suction cups 2 for mounting platform 1 on rear portion, a microphone 3 for enabling a user to input voice commands, a motorized pivot joint 4 arranged with a telescopic column 5 for positioning column 5 on a ground surface, a rack 6 having multiple slots accessed by user to place a front wheel of a bicycle(s), a pair of telescopic clamps 7 for securing front wheel inside slots, a pneumatic piston 8 for lifting rack 6 towards platform 1, a motorized hinge join for bending rack 6 in order to successfully position bicycles parallel to rear portion, an imaging unit 9 for capturing images of surroundings of platform 1 and a speaker 10 to notify user regarding detected obstacle."
