MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517038018 A) filed by Kao Corporation, Tokyo, on April 21, for 'binder composition for casting mold.'
Inventor(s) include Matsuo, Toshiki; and Yamaguchi, Daisuke.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is a binder composition for a casting mold, which contains furfuryl alcohol, a furan resin, water, and a phosphate, and which satisfies conditions (1) to (4). Condition (1): the content of furfuryl alcohol in the binder composition for a casting mold is more than 0 mass% and not more than 30 mass%. Condition (2): the content of the furan resin in the binder composition for a casting mold is 20-60 mass%. Condition (3): the content of water in the binder composition for a casting mold is 5-30 mass%. Condition (4): the phosphate includes a phosphate amine. The present invention is capable of providing a binder composition for a casting mold, that contains a furan resin in which phosphoric acid is used as an acid catalyst at the time of production, and that can suppress elution of insoluble phosphates while suppressing an increase in viscosity during storage of the binder composition for a casting mold, which has a low furfuryl alcohol content."
