Abstract: Abstract: The present invention relates to a tissue-engineered heart valve fabricated via 3D bioprinting using a bioink derived from bovine heart valve tissue. Current treatment options—mechanical and bioprosthetic valves—suffer from complications such as thrombosis, calcification, and limited durability. The invention provides a biocompatible, mechanically robust, and immunologically favorable heart valve construct that mimics the native valve's structure and function. The bioink combines decellularized bovine matrix, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and gelatin, and is 3D printed into valve structures. The construct exhibits favorable physicochemical, mechanical, and biological properties, as demonstrated by haemolysis testing and CAM assay. This novel approach aims to improve clinical outcomes, reduce morbidity, and enhance the quality of life for patients requiring valve replacement therapy.
