MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003734 A) filed by Vikas Chawla, Gurugram, Haryana, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'bipod grip with side picatinny for 1913 mil std picatinny rail.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Existing Bipod Grip is a weapon accessory which can be used as a Bipod and when folded as a Grip. It enhances the capability of a soldier to quickly change it profile from a close combat fight to a defensive fight. However, Once installed on the weapon this accessory does not allow any other accessories to be fitted on the weapon which is of a great disadvantage to soldier. A soldier requires many other accessories on their weapon to enhance their chances of survival and fighting effectively. Therefore, to provide more options to soldier. We have designed a Bipod Grip with a Side Picatinny to provide additional options to soldiers to add more accessories."
