MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321013279 A) filed by Ordinance Factory Ambernath, Thane, Maharashtra, on Feb. 27, 2023, for 'black passivation in 30mm sarath cartridge cases.'
Inventor(s) include Sameer Satoor; Santosh Belwatkar; and Surendra Shejwal.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Black Passivation in 30mm Sarath Cartridge Cases The present invention provides a method of passivation in the Zinc plating process on the surface of steel cartridge cases. The present invention intends to introduce a new Black Passivation method that contains a silver nitrate chemical, so there is no colour variation on the surface of cartridge cases."
