MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022370 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'blockage removal device for sewer pipe.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A blockage removal device for sewer pipe, comprising a cylindrical body 1 positioned in a sewer pipe and installed with an electronic nozzle 2 connected with an external water source via a hose pipe 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the body 1 for detecting blockage in the pipe, a motorized circular disc 5 installed at a front portion of the body 1 and installed with plurality of curved-shaped members 6 to rotate for removing the blockage through the members 6 and a motorized roller 7 configured with the hose pipe 3 to rotate for gradually wrapping the hose pipe 3 to prevent detachment of the hose from the external water supply and allowing continuous supply of the water."
