MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102871 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'blockchain-based nft system for decentralized environments.'
Inventor(s) include Tara Singla; Dr. Amit Dutt; Gazal Sharma; and Archana Sehgal.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A blockchain-based NFT system for decentralized environments, comprises of a compressed blockchain layer 101 configured to efficiently record and store transactions with reduced data redundancy, a plurality of lightweight encryption module 102 adapted to secure the storage, verification, and controlled access of data generated by Internet of Things (IoT) devices, a trusted digital framework 103 encapsulating metadata, ownership identity, and access control policies for maintaining reliable and privacy-preserving data flow, and a digital signature verification mechanism 104 for authenticating each transaction and ensuring non-repudiation, wherein the system reduces computational and storage overhead while maintaining data integrity, traceability, and privacy, supports real-time validation of IoT data, and provides an energy-efficient and scalable architecture enabling secure decentralized communication and data exchange across multiple IoT devices and infrastructure nodes within blockchain-enabled environments."
