MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517045695 A) filed by Halili Ardian, Wettingen, Switzerland, on May 12, for 'blood bag for collecting and re using blood lost during operations.'

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a blood collection container which is fitted at the top with an intake connector (10) for connecting a drainage tube (19) and is also fitted with a suction connector (6) for connecting the suction tube (18) of a vacuum connection. The invention is characterised in that: firstly the blood collection container (1) has at the bottom a discharge port (4) for draining collected blood via a tube (30) to a blood cleaning apparatus; and secondly in that the blood collection container (1) contains an anticoagulant; and thirdly is sterilised as a whole and packaged in a delivery bag (2) which is sealed in a sterile manner by means of a hermetic seal (5) to be opened in the operating theatre shortly before use. A tube portion is advantageously placed on the lower drain port (4) which tube portion can be closed by a tube clamp (16) in order to connect a drain tube (30) to this drain port (4) and for optionally opening or closing the tube portion or drain tube (30) by means of the tube clamp (16)."
