MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025571 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'boarding/de-boarding assistive device for watercrafts.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A boarding/de-boarding assistive device for watercrafts, comprising a curved-shaped platform 1 positioned over shore of a water body, an inflated tube 2 is arranged on periphery of platform 1 to remain on surface of the water body, an imaging unit 4 to detect dimensions and shape of approaching watercrafts, plurality of motorized hinge joints 3 to modulate shape as per detected dimensions of watercraft, a proximity sensor to monitor presence of approaching watercraft, a triangular-shaped member 6 over front portion of the platform 1 for aiding in smooth accommodation of the approaching watercraft over platform 1, a touch sensor to detect presence of watercraft over member 6, plurality of motorized roller 7 arranged on bottom portion of platform 1 and member 6 to rotate for translating the member 6 securely over platform 1, an ultrasonic sensor to detect dimensions of the user accommodated over watercraft."
