MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020718 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'boat rowing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Parveen Singla; Dr. Ruchi Singla; Diksha; and Md. Irfan.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A boat rowing assistive device, comprises of an elongated telescopically operated frame 1 for allowing the user to row a boat on a water body, a plate 3 attached with a first and second end of the frame 1 to row a boat on a water body, a laser acuity sensor for detecting dimensions of the user's arm, an inflatable unit 5 equipped in the member 2 to securely grip the user's arm in the member 2, an imaging unit 6 for detecting water surface, a pressure sensor for detecting pressure applied by the unit 5 on the user's arm, a holographic projection unit 7 for projecting a hologram to guide the user in aligning the frame 1 over the water surface, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting distance of the water, and a motorized shaft 8 for rotating the frame 1 cut through water via the plate 3."
