MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025492 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'branch pruning device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Inderpreet Kaur; Rajinder Kumar; Lucky; and Abhay Nanda.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A branch pruning device, comprising, a frame 1 having two arm arranged in a V shape, attached via a motorized hinge joint to provide movement to the frame 1, an electromagnetic clamp provided above the hinge joint for mounting a part of a vehicle, a telescopic rod 2 attached at the end of the arms, plurality of motorized circular blades 3 attached with the rod 2 rotate to cut the branch into smaller pieces, horizontal blades 3 attached with bottom ends of the rod 2 to cut a proximal part of the branch, a suction unit 5 is attached underneath the cover flap 4, to collect cut branches in a collector box 6 via a conduit, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit installed on the main rod 2 for detecting a presence of an obstacle or a person in the vicinity."
