MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441023340 A) filed by Dr. Girija, Pondicherry, India, on March 25, 2024, for 'bulk crystals of amgs hexahydrate.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Girija.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Bulk crystals of Ammonium Magnesium Sulphate (AMgS) is synthesized by slow evaporation solution growth process using distilled water as solvent. Energy dispersive spectra confirms the presence of Magnesium in the doped crystals. SEM images exhibit defect centers due to the dopant Magnesium incorporation into ADP crystal. In Single crystal XRD analysis the cell parameter values of Magnesium doped ADP Crystal is slightly higher than pure ADP specimen, also the system is Monoclinic for doped one with different beta angle 107.106 and tetragonal for pure ADP. From the details of single crystal XRD values we may infer that the synthesized Ammonium Magnesium Sulphate is newly prepared crystal where so far not synthesized by any researchers. Optical studies confirm that the doped specimen, Ammonium Magnesium Sulphate is highly transparent and posses optic properties due to its higher band gap energy which makes it application in optical windows. The doping of Magnesium depresses/negligees the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of AMgS crystal. The so synthesized crystal has an important role in optical and electronic industry."
