MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517084449 A) filed by Tomoegawa Corporation, Tokyo, on Sept. 5, for 'carbon fiber sheet, gas diffusion layer for fuel cell, and membrane electrode composite.'

Inventor(s) include Honjyou, Takuya; Takahata, Masanori; Hattori, Akinori; Umehara, Yoshihiro; and Ikeya, Hirotoshi.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This disclosure provides a carbon fiber sheet demonstrating excellent performance suitable as a constituent member of a gas diffusion layer in a fuel cell. An embodiment of this disclosure is a carbon fiber sheet comprising: a carbon fiber; conductive particles; an organic fiber; and a binder resin. The sheet is characterised in that the binder resin contains an olefin-based resin, and a portion of a network structure formed by the carbon fiber receives the fixation of a composite containing the binder resin, the conductive particles, and the organic fiber."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 11, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/009372.
