MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517059046 A) filed by Saint-Gobain Performances Plastics Corporation, Solon, U.S.A., on June 19, for 'cell culture surfaces and containers and methods for making and using them.'

Inventor(s) include Girard-Lauriault, Pierre-Luc; Sabbatier, Gad; and Ramachandran, Balaji.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure relates to coated surfaces suitable for cell culture, to methods for making such surfaces, and to methods for culturing adherent cells on such surfaces. One aspect of the disclosure is a surface suitable for cell culture including an amorphous hydrogenated carbon coating. Another aspect of the disclosure is a method for making a surface suitable for cell culture including an amorphous hydrogenated carbon coating. Another aspect of the disclosure is a method for culturing adherent cells that includes incubating a surface including an amorphous hydrogenated carbon coating with adherent cells and a growth medium."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/080643.
