MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517048517 A) filed by Next Level Coffee Gmbh, Konstanz, Germany, on May 20, for 'closing device for a ground material container, ground material container, and coffee machine comprising such a ground material container.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a closing device (300) for a ground material container (100) containing a first closing element (330) and a second closing element (340) and also a housing (320). The first closing element (330) and the second closing element (340) can be moved relative to one another. A drive unit (310) moves the second closing element (340) relative to the housing (320) and relative to the first closing element (330). The first closing element, the second closing element and the housing each contain a ground material opening. If all three ground material openings overlap one another, the ground material is discharged from the ground material container. In order to close the ground material container and stop the flow of the ground material, the second closing element is moved relative to the first closing element. Once a certain distance has been covered by the second closing element, the first closing element is entrained by the movement and the ground material opening in the housing is closed. This prevents jammed ground material from keeping the outlet opening open."
