MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025971 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'cloth scrubbing assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cloth scrubbing assistive device, comprises a platform 1 positioned over a ground surface by means of plurality of suction cups 2 arranged beneath the platform 1, a microphone 3 for receiving voice command of a user regarding assistance of in scrubbing cloth, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 for capturing and processing images of the user, a telescopic rod 5 extends and retracts in view of positioning the platform 1 at appropriate height in accordance with the detected height of the user, a pair of motorized sliding units 6 to provide translation to a telescopic gripper 8, the telescopic gripper 8 to extend and grip the cloth for stretching the cloth over the platform 1, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 to rotate in a pre-defined direction to flip the gripped cloth."
