MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024149 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'cloth strap stitching assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Harsh Sharma; Fiza; Kiran Kumar Agrawal; Rajinder Kaur Bhogal; and Palki.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cloth strap stitching assistive device comprises of, a rectangular body 1 installed with a pair of curved-shaped members 8 to be position on surface of a sewing machine in proximity to needle of the machine, and developed to accommodate a cloth, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 9 for detecting width of the cloth, a pair of plates 7 via a pair of motorized sliders 3 for translating the plates 7 towards each other, a pair of motorized hinges 10 for tilting the members 8 towards each other and such that cloth is folded via the members 8 and is passed towards the needle for stitching in order to form the strap, an ultrasonic for detecting length of the cloth passed through the body 1, a motorized blade 2 for cutting the cloth, and a speaker 6 for notifying user to accurately align the cloth with the body 1."
