MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621010557 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Jan. 31, for 'cloud-based serverless disaster response and real-time earthquake early warning alert system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Nilesh Shelke; Rishab Thutheja; Prathmesh Raipurkar; and Tanay Deshkar.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cloud-based disaster response and alert system (100) employing serverless, event-driven architecture for real-time earthquake early warning and automated emergency notification. The system comprises a data simulation module (110) with graphical user interface (112) and seismic waveform visualizer (114) for generating seismic data; a cloud backend system (120) with API gateway module (122), data ingestor lambda function (124), threshold-based detection algorithm (126), and database storage module (128) for event detection and persistence; and an alert processing system (130) with simple notification service module (132), alert dispatcher lambda function (134), and external SMS gateway (136) for delivering alerts to end-user mobile devices (140). The serverless architecture enables automatic scaling and achieves end-to-end alert latency of less than five seconds, bridging the critical information gap between seismic detection and public notification."
