MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122247 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'cnn-driven power allocation and ber optimization in noma systems with swipt.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Budhaditya Bhattacharyya; Vutukuri Sai Sudeepthi; and Souhrid Mallick.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system for power allocation and bit error rate optimization in non-orthogonal multiple access networks with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer. The system includes a base station transmitting radio frequency signals to multiple users, power splitting receivers each associated with a user and configured to simultaneously decode information and harvest energy from received signals, a convolutional neural network module trained to predict power allocation coefficients based on signal-to-noise ratio, user distance, and bit error rate values, a power allocation unit distributing transmit power among users according to predicted coefficients, and a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer module implementing power splitting wherein each receiver splits received signal power between information decoding and energy harvesting."
