MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611009490 A) filed by Hcl Technologies Limited, New Delhi, on Jan. 30, for 'cochlear implant assembly for securing magnet and cochlear implant thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Raman Kumar; Gopinath K; and Parthasarathy C.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cochlear implant (102) is disclosed. The cochlear implant (102) includes a non-magnetic housing (104) configured to be over-molded over a coil assembly (106) of the cochlear implant (102). The non-magnetic housing (104) defines a cylindrical cavity (202) which includes a plurality of first threads (204). Additionally, the cochlear implant (102) includes a cylindrical axial magnet shell (108) defining a plurality of second threads (206) on a side surface (208). The plurality of second threads (206) is configured to be engaged with the plurality of first threads (204) to secure the cylindrical axial magnet shell (108) within the cylindrical cavity (202) of the non-magnetic housing (104) and prevent dislodgement when force is exerted by an external magnetic field on the cylindrical axial magnet shell (108)."
