MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521118824 A) filed by Rupesh Anil Saindane; and Nilima A. Thombre, Dombivli, Maharashtra, on Nov. 28, 2025, for 'cocrystals of naproxen and methocarbamol, processes for preparation and pharmaceutical compositions thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Rupesh Anil Saindane; and Nilima A. Thombre.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to cocrystals of Naproxen and Methocarbamol and to pharmaceutical formulations comprising cocrystals of Naproxen and Methocarbamol. In one embodiment, the invention provides oral solid dosage forms in which Naproxen and Methocarbamol are present within a single crystal lattice as a cocrystal and are combined with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. Pharmaceutical formulations comprising cocrystals of Naproxen and Methocarbamol exhibit improved solubility and dissolution of Naproxen in pharmaceutically relevant media and show enhanced powder flow and compactability in comparison with formulations containing Naproxen and Methocarbamol as individual crystalline forms or as physical mixtures. The pharmaceutical formulations described herein are amenable to manufacture by conventional pharmaceutical unit operations such as crystallisation, drying, blending, lubrication and compression and are suitable for industrial scale production."
