MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431016712 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on March 8, 2024, for 'coke breeze blend, sinter mix, iron ore sinter and methods of preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dhiraj Madhukar Kadhe; Srinivas Dwarapudi; Pradeep Chaudhary; Bikash Kumar Chatterjee; Amit Das; Siddhartha Misra; Surajit Sinha; Uttam Singh; Jay Prakash Behura; and Dharmendar Kumar Rajak.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a coke breeze blend for preparing iron ore sinter, corresponding sinter mix and iron ore sinter thereof. The disclosure also provides methods for preparing said coke breeze blend and sinter mix, and a sintering method for iron ore sinter preparation. The coke breeze blend comprises a composite catalyst doped in coke breeze which when used as sinter fuel provide advantages in improving the overall efficiency of iron ore sintering process by reducing the overall fuel consumption along with improving physical and metallurgical properties of the obtained sinter and reducing the total carbon demand of the sintering process."
