MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (1737/CHE/2008 A) filed by Susarla Venkata Yegneswara Sastry, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, on July 18, 2008, for 'comet defender anti missile defense.'

Inventor(s) include Susarla Venkata Yegneswara Sastry.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The arrangement given in has an advantage that it will give a uniform burst at any distance and as such we will be able to attack the area around the target uniformly and the target will not be able to fly through the fire.Gatling guns or antiaircraft guns have been used traditionally for a long time but by putting them in an arrange ment as shown in figure 1, we will be able to intercept the missile at a high range. As for the example given we will be able to intercept the missile at an altitude of 229.357 kms when a bullet with muzzle velocity of 3000m/sec is fired at an angle of 45 degrees."
