According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure relates to method and system for gear shifting in an electric-drive 5 powertrain. Method comprising receiving a gear change request for one or more electric motor generator set. When a gear change request received is for one electric motor generator set, method comprising transferring load torque from first electric motor generator set to second electric motor generator set, initiating gear shifting sequence in first electric motor generator, and transferring load torque back on first 10 electric motor generator set. When gear change request received is for more than one electric motor generator set, method comprising determining first power value for first electric motor generator set and second power value the second electric motor generator set, comparing first power value and second power value with pre-defined threshold value, and selecting either first electric motor generator set or 15 second electric motor generator set based on the comparison."
