MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517046498 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on May 14, for 'communication method and apparatus, electrical device, and storage medium.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a communication method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a storage medium. A terminal accesses a core network device by means of a trusted non-3GPP method, and forwards a PDU session modification request to a core network device by means of a trusted non-3GPP access network device, allowing the core network device to determine, according to the PDU session modification request, whether to allow the terminal to join an MBS session, allowing the core network device to provide multicast and broadcast services to the terminal which gained access via the non-3GPP method."
