MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517057762 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on June 16, for 'communication method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device can receive first information from a network device, wherein the first information is used for re-configuring a trigger condition for a measurement report event of the terminal device; and after re-configuring the trigger condition according to the first information, the terminal device can retain some or all cells in a first list, or retain identification information of each cell in the first list. By means of the method, when a network device re-configures a trigger condition for a measurement report event of a terminal device, the terminal device can retain some or all cells in a first list, or quickly measure the cells in the first list according to retained identification information of each cell in the first list, so that information related to the first list can be effectively managed, thereby reducing the reporting time of a measurement report."
