MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527062835 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Shenzhen, China, on July 1, for 'communication method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A communication method and an apparatus, which can be applied to a communication scenario in which a network controlled repeater (NCR) is deployed. The method comprises: a first access network device determines indication information and sends system information of a first cell, the system information comprising the indication information, and the indication information indicating a public land mobile network (PLMN) corresponding to a first synchronization signal and physical broadcast channel block (SSB) of the first cell; and a first terminal device receives the system information, and determines the PLMN corresponding to the first SSB according to the indication information therein. On the basis of the solution, configuring a specific PLMN for an SSB that can be forwarded by the NCR allows terminal devices selecting the specific PLMN to access the network via the NCR, and refuses terminal devices selecting other PLMNs to access the network via the NCR, thereby enabling the NCR to serve terminal devices selecting the specific PLMN, and improving the control capability of operators over the NCR."
