MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527077991 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Aug. 16, for 'communication method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present application provide a communication method and apparatus, which are capable of solving the problem of data packet loss caused by asynchronous local identity (ID) updating time of a remote UE and a relay UE, and can be applied to U2N or a multi-path relay communication system. The method comprises: a relay terminal device receives first configuration information from a network device, wherein the first configuration information comprises a first local ID and a first ID, the first local ID is an ID allocated by the network device and used for identifying a remote terminal device, and the first ID is an ID allocated by the remote terminal device and used for identifying the remote terminal device; the remote terminal device communicates with the network device by means of the relay terminal device; the relay terminal device receives a first data packet according to the first ID, and processes the first data packet according to the first configuration information, wherein the first data packet carries a second local ID, and the second local ID is an ID configured by the network device for the remote terminal device and used for identifying the remote terminal device."
