MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202347053561 A) filed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 10, 2023, for 'communication system and base station.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In order to improve communication quality in a communication system in which terminal-terminal communication is utilized, this communication system comprises: a first base station (S-gNB) to which a first communication terminal (Remote UE) supporting terminal-terminal communication for direct communication between communication terminals is connected; and a second base station (T-gNB) to which a second communication terminal (Relay UE) supporting terminal-terminal communication is connected. The second base station, upon receiving a handover request for connecting the first communication terminal to the base station via the second communication terminal, transmits communication configuration information to the first communication terminal and the second communication terminal, the communication configuration information indicating the contents of the configuration for the first communication terminal and the second communication terminal to perform terminal-terminal communication."
