MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431072147 A) filed by Dr. Ayan Chatterjee; and Dr. Jhimli Manna, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Sept. 24, 2024, for 'composition for thermostabilization, storage and delivery of recombinant protein vaccine against human papilloma virus through coatings on microneedle array patch.'

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A thermostable vaccine-storage and delivery matrix composition comprising synergistically co-acting combination of at least two sugar based excipients combination of trehalose and sorbitol in amounts of 1 to 2 %, a surfactant including Poly (Maleic Anhydride-Alt-1-Octadecene) substituted with 3-(Dimethylamine) Propylamine (PMAL) in amounts of 0.5 to 1 %, a protein stabilizer in amounts of 0.5-1% and a polysaccharide binder base Xanthan gum in amounts of 0.1 to 2 % having vaccine storage stability even at temperatures up to 42.5 C with an extended shelf life of up to 90 days. Said thermostable composition is suitable for coating microneedles favouring painless self administrable vaccine patch of dissolvable microneedles."
