MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517046079 A) filed by Acurx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Staten Island, U.S.A., on May 13, for 'compounds and methods for improving health.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The technical field relates to methods for promoting gut microbiome health using low G+C Directed (LDN) analogs. More particularly, the technical field relates to methods of using LDN analogs as inhibitors of DNA Polymerase IIIC (DNA pol IIIC) enzyme to selectively reduce physiologically harmful Gram-positive bacteria with a genome having low amounts of Guanine and Cytosine (rather the genomes comprise a greater amount of adenine and thymine/uracil nucleotides) in the gut microbiome while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the proportions of beneficial microflora."
