MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122805 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'comprehensive framework for covid-19 diagnosis integrating gan, deep learning, and xai.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a COVID-19 diagnostic classification system comprising a data preprocessing module configured to remove outliers using Interquartile Range method (100) and apply Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique for class balancing, a synthetic data generation module comprising a trained Generative Adversarial Network configured to generate synthetic clinical samples preserving statistical properties of original data, a feature selection module configured to evaluate multiple techniques across different deep learning architectures to identify optimal feature subsets, a model training module configured to train multiple architectures using respective optimal features with cross-validation, an ensemble module configured to combine predictions using soft voting aggregation, and an explainable AI module configured to provide interpretability analysis through feature importance quantification."
