MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311086300 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 18, 2023, for 'configure the integration of digital intercom system for observer trainer aircraft.'

Inventor(s) include Dilip Singh; and Kapil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic circuit (Figure-2) for configuration of Digital Intercom system on observer trainer aircraft having new Audio Control Units (ACU-7 & ACU-8) and Audio Processor Unit APU-1 (1) comprising of two IC Call switches (2,3) and two IC call indicators (4,5) one each associated with each new ACUS (ACU-7 & ACU-8). One terminal of external IC call switches (2,3) is permanently connected to ground wherein second or another terminal of these IC call switches (2,3) is connected to APU-1(1). One terminal of external IC call indicator (4,5) is permanently connected to 28 VDC supply (6 & 7) respectively wherein second or another terminal of these IC call indicator (4,5) is connected to APU-1(1). Activation of any of these external IC call switches (2,3) activates grounding at AP cup - (1) which results in illumination of these IC call indicators (4,5) to provide optical alerts to new observer trainers in aircraft cabin."
