MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133259 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'congestion avoidance routing system and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Manoj Kumar Bohra.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A congestion avoidance routing system (100) for a Network-on-Chip (NoC), the congestion avoidance routing system (100) comprising: an input unit (102) configured to receive one or more data packets such that each data packet comprising source coordinates and destination coordinates; a routing computation unit (104) configured to determine a routing direction based on a deterministic XY routing order while dynamically checking congestion status of neighbouring links; a selection and congestion evaluation unit (106) configured to select an output channel by avoiding congested links and selecting an alternate minimal path when congestion is detected; and an output forwarding unit (108) configured to forward the one or more data packets toward a destination processing element, wherein the congestion avoidance routing system (100) executes a congestion-aware routing technique to reduce latency and improve throughput in two-dimensional mesh NoC."
