MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517042415 A) filed by Mireca Medicines Gmbh, Tubingen, Germany, on May 1, for 'conjugates for neuroretinal drug delivery.'

Inventor(s) include Christensen, Gustav; and Paquet-Durand, Francois.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is in the field of drug delivery. The invention relates to the use of monocarboxylates as ligands for receptors that are present in for instance the retina. These receptors were found to be able to mediate uptake of these ligands, and of conjugates of these ligands. Such conjugates can be used in methods for treating or preventing neurodegenerative diseases, such as retinal degeneration."

The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 06, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/077664.
