MUMBAI, India, Sept. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311019548 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 21, 2023, for 'contact lens storing and application device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Joginder Singh; and Dr. Harpal Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 27, under issue no. 39/2024.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A contact lens storing and application device, comprising of a body 1 positioned on a fixed surface, a platform 2 for allowing users to position their contact lenses over platform 2, a biometric sensor 3 for allowing users to input their finger impressions to create a user profile, a multi-sectioned chamber 4 for storing contact lenses in each of sections, a robotic gripper 5 for gripping and positioning lenses within a particular section, a microphone 6 for allowing a user to input commands regarding a type of operation, an electronic nozzle 7 integrated on a container 8 for dispensing a cleaning solution, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 9 for capturing multiple images of user for detecting dimension of user's eyes, an audio unit 10 for generating voice notifications for input of fingers impressions, and a pair of robotic links 11 for securing and positioning lenses to user's eyes."
