MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011901 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'container lid opening/closing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Asit Kumar Subudhi.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A container lid opening/closing assistive device, comprising an extendable U-shaped frame 101 positioned over a container's lid which is to be opened, an imaging unit 102 determines dimensions of container, a motorized drawer arrangement integrated within frame 101, for modulating length of frame 101 for positioning a motorized clamp 103 on lateral ends of container, to grip container from side portions, a circular ring 104 is integrated with an expandable pulley arrangement 105 assembled in frame 101 to expand/contract as per determined dimensions, multiple motorized clamping units 106 acquires a grip over lid of container, a microphone 107 receives voice commands of user regarding opening/closing of lid, a motorized circular slider 108 translate clamping units 106 to apply a torsional force over lid in a pre-defined direction which rotates lid in a clockwise/anti-clockwise direction for opening/closing lid."
