MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414101065 A) filed by Yamaha Hatsudoki Kabushiki Kaisha, Shizuoka, Japan, on Dec. 19, 2024, for 'continuously variable transmission and straddled vehicle including continuously variable transmission.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "There is disclosed a continuously variable transmission (15), which can improve a manufacturability of a supporting structure and an assemblability of the supporting structure, is provided; continuously variable transmission (15) of a straddled vehicle 1 including a primary pulley (41), a secondary pulley (42), a belt (43), a case (48) and a supporting structure (100). the supporting structure (100) being provided between case (48) and at least one of primary pulley (41) and secondary pulley (42); supporting structure (100) including a shaft member (46), a diameter expansion member (101), a first bearing (95) and an impregnated bush (102); the diameter expansion member (101) being disposed on an outer peripheral surface of a tip portion (46b) of shaft member (46); first bearing (95) being mounted to case (48); first bearing 95 being disposed at an interval from the diameter expansion member (101) in a radial direction; impregnated bush (102) being disposed between diameter expansion member (101) and first bearing (95) in the radial direction."
